The annual cocktail party provides a unique opportunity to kick off the year by commemorating the recent accomplishments of our colleagues and extending a warm welcome to new Magistrates in our Region. It serves to acknowledge outstanding contributions to our Association, with the presentation of Life and Honorary Membership bestowed upon members recognised for their exemplary and lengthy service to the Association; individuals who hold significant standing within both the legal profession and the broader community.
Traditionally, this prestigious event has featured distinguished guest speakers, including the Commissioner of the Legal Services Commission and esteemed members of the judiciary. It is a gathering that embodies the essence of excellence and professionalism in the legal field.

Downs and South West Queensland Law Association (DSWQLA)
PO Box 924, Toowoomba, Queensland, 4350
DSWQLA respectfully acknowledge the ongoing care and dedication the Jarowair, and Giabal people of the Wakka Wakka Nation devote to their country, air, and waterways with great patience and enduring, unbreakable resilience. We celebrate the stories, culture, and traditions of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nations and communities who also work and live on the lands we are privileged to now work and live on. As a legal association we pay specific respect to the law women and law men who for tens of thousands of years have ensured the peace, order and good governance of this place, long before it became known as the Darling Downs.
